December – Let there be light!
Thanks to the work of a few persistent individuals, the Trinity lanterns in the front of the church have returned!   Many thanks to those who worked to get these beautiful new lanterns.

December – Trinity’s Annual Angel Tree
Presents were delivered to both Melrose AND Ochwilla Elementary schools. Thank you Angels!!!

Saturday, December 14 – Merry Melrose!

The Merry Melrose Parade – Trinity Elves handed out stuffed animals to children along the parade route. This has been an ongoing project since last Christmas…stuffed animals are donated to the Thrift Store, volunteers collect and launder them, and finally hand them to many many children. It has been reported that they handed out forty-five bags full of animals!  Thank you Greg and Jeanne Homany and all of the elves who made this parade so fun for the little ones.

Following the parade – The Annual Nativity Walk – Nativity scenes on the tables, Carols sung by the tree, Cookies and Cocoa…what a great combination for a lovely December day.

TRINITY ECW DECEMBER NEWS
WEDNESDAY, December 4th – ECW will have a Thrift Shop Work day starting at 9am. Any time that you may be able to help will be very much appreciated and help organize the Thrift Shop for the Christmas Holidays.
SATURDAY – December 7 – This coming Saturday is the ECW potluck luncheon in the parish hall. We will have a gift exchange of items not more than $5.00 from the Thrift Shop. Any bags of pet food are also requested to be given to LAM.

Thursday, November 28 – Thanksgiving in the Park!

Thanksgiving in the park – fantastic!  Many thanks to all, for everything you did to help with Thanksgiving in the Park. We could never begin to have this without knowing how many good and loving hearts we have at Trinity and in the community. As well as our own members, there were a great many helpers from the community who pitched in with food as well as helping hands. And best of all there was much laughter, music and playfulness throughout the park on a bright sunshiny day! Thank you so much!

Saturday is the Men’s Breakfast and all men of the church are invited to attend.

Trinity’s Annual Fall Bazaar!  November 8-9
The Bazaar Team put on a terrific event this year!  There was a great deal of donated furniture and lots of clothing in the Forum Room.  Many beautiful items from Sister’s Circle handcrafters, baked goods, canned goods, plus glassware and jewelry filled the tables.  A delicious chili dinner was also served.

The SongFarmers will once again bring their music and joy to the parish hall.  If you or a friend have an instrument to bring and play, please feel welcome to join in.  Or if you would like to come and sing (all voices are encouraged, high, low and even off key).

It’s time for the monthly Grill-n-chill! Bring your item for the grill…and, most importantly, bring a friend for an evening of fellowship!

September 12 – Movie Night
Thursday is Movie Night. Doors open at 6:00pm and the movie will start at 6:30 which will give you lots of time to pick up your popcorn and drink and maybe even some candy so you can find your favorite seat.

September 9 – Home Study – 6pm
The Monday evening Home Study resumes at the home of Ann and Fr. Tony Powell

September 8 – Ultreya
The Cursillo Community of the Santa Fe Region will have an Ultreya @ 4pm, hosted by St. James, Lake City.

September 5 – ECW Dinner Meeting
The ECW will hold it’s first meeting of the “new” year. The meeting will be a dinner meeting which will be provided by the ECW. The meeting will start at 6:00pm. All of the women of the church are invited to attend to learn more about the ECW, enjoy a delicious meal and join together with the other women of the church in fellowship. Newcomers are welcomed and introduced to others so don’t be shy, come and join us.

August 31 – Men’s Club Breakfast

August 17 – SongFarmers Gathering

June 9, 2019 Pentecost Sunday!  Glorious day at Trinity on the Day of Pentecost!
Celebrating Pentecost, Confirming, Receiving, Fellow-shipping! Happy to have Bishop Dorsey celebrating this day with us!

Pentecost Sunday – June 9 – WEAR RED!
Bishop Dorsey will be with us on Pentecost Sunday and will happily receive all those who wish for him to bring them into the Episcopal Church, “officially.” On this day, Marilyn, Lindsay, and Gianna will be Confirmed by the Bishop and Lynn will be Received. It will be a wonderfully happy day and a great celebration of the Holy Spirit’s grace, guidance, and continued presence with us!

We hope that everyone will WEAR RED, the color that symbolizes the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday, June 9 – Ultreya – 4:00pm
Trinity will host the June Santa Fe AND River Region Ultreya.  All are invited to join the Cursillo community for worship, fellowship, and dinner!  Contact John Katterhenry, if you need more information.

SUMMER SCHEDULE
Starting June 2, there will be only ONE SERVICE each Sunday, at 10am. On 1st Sundays, the service will be in the parish hall with a potluck afterwards.

The Men’s Club is going to have the annual Memorial Day BBQ on Saturday, May 25, serving in the yard in front of the parish hall beginning at 11am.

Your choice of a Pork Sandwich ($10) or Ribs ($12) with all the fixins’ – beans, slaw, and a drink.  Please call Rodney or see him after church to make a pre-order and make sure able to get one of these delicious meals. They will be serving until 2pm OR until all meals are sold out.

Wednesday, May 22 – 6:30pm
The 4th Wednesday Spaghetti Dinner features Bob Branson of the College of Missionary Aviation to speak about the program. A brief Eucharist service is at 6pm prior to the dinner.

Whether you are a new or seasoned musician, singer, or just love good music, you are welcome to join the May gathering of the SongFarmers!

CONFIRMATION, RECEPTION AND AFFIRMATION
The Confirmation class, which begins on Sunday, May 5 at 9am, is for anyone interested in being Confirmed, Received, or Affirmed…or if you’re just interested in learning more about the Episcopal Church.
The Bishop will be with us on Sunday, June 9, Pentecost Sunday, to celebrate our Inquirers. Please call the office or speak with Fr. Tony if you would like to take part in the class.

On the first Sunday of the month, we collect items for Lake Area Ministries.  If you are able to bring some non-perishable food items, pet food, or paper goods, ie. Tissue, Toilet Paper, Paper towels etc., we will see that they are blessed and sent on to LAM.  Thank you.

St. Mark’s hosts the Soup Supper and Lenten Program in Starke, beginning at 6pm

Wednesday, April 3 – Lenten Luncheon – 12pm
The Community Lenten Luncheon will be held at Trinity Baptist in Keystone and the speaker will be Rev. Joey Hay.

Tuesday, April 2 – ECW dinner at 6:00pm.
There will be a wonderful chicken dinner and Will and Carol will be showing some slides and talking about their trip to Jerusalem.

The Community Lenten Luncheon will be at St. William’s Catholic Church in Keystone with Rev. Jeff Tate from Keystone United Methodist Church as the speaker.  These lunches are always free though love offerings are gratefully accepted.

Join us for the March SongFarmers Gathering at Trinity, 7-9pm.  Whether a new or seasoned musician, singer, or just love good music you are welcome! Bring your guitar, fiddle, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer or upright bass…or just sing along with the musicians.

March 13 – Lenten Soup Supper – 6pm
The first in our series of Wednesday Soup Suppers and Programs will be held at Trinity.  Please contact Cinnie to sign-up to bring soup, fruit, bread, or to set-up/clean-up.

March 13 – Lenten Community Lunch
St. William’s Catholic Church, in Keystone Heights hosts the first Lenten Luncheon, beginning at noon.

March 6 – Ash Wednesday
Services at noon and 6pm

March 5 – Pancake Supper
The scouts of Boy Scout Troop #109 are serving pancakes for dinner for all, beginning at 5:30pm. You can expect pancakes with all the works! For the adventuresome, there are fruit toppings and whipped cream in addition to a variety of syrups. Ham, juice, and coffee complete the meal.  The cost is $5.00 a person, but not more than $20.00 per family.

The Spaghetti Dinner this month will be on Feb. 27th at 6:00pm, and the speaker for the evening is Joan Vaughn, one of the founders of Lake Area Ministries Food Pantry.

Many thanks to outgoing vestry members, Joyce Chesnut and Brian McRae for three years of service. New vestry members, Jean Giesel and George Letchford were voted in by acclamation. A report of the Diocesan Convention was made by Fr. Tony and Elaine Ashley.  If you were not able to attend the meeting or you did not receive the Annual Report, there are copies in the office.

1st Sunday Service & Annual Parish Meeting
Each year Trinity has an annual meeting during which everyone is given a copy of the written annual report, including reports of the previous year’s activities by each of our ministries. The Treasurer will go over the coming year’s budget, and we will elect two new Vestry members, a convention delegate and an alternate. Please plan to attend and enjoy a wonderful pot luck lunch as well!

A fantastic spaghetti super, prepared by John Katterhenry and friends, was followed by a delicious sampling of coffees and an interesting presentation by William Beck of FirePower Coffee Roasters LLC.

Trinity Episcopal hosted the inaugural meeting of the Melrose Chapter of SongFarmers, a gathering of local musicians and singers who came together to share their talents; bringing instruments, voices, or listening ears for a wonderful evening of picking, playing and singing. Everyone welcome!
